Life is a journey that is not
always smooth, sometimes we go through stuffs and get faced with one challenge
or the other. At such times, instead of trusting God to take full control of
things, what most of us do is to get worried and anxious. All the anti-
worry and anxiety pills we need to get through life's journey are right in the
bible so rather than write something new, I think it's best we analyse Matthew
6:27-33. I've used the New Living Translation Bible version to make it easier.
Verse 27 of Matthew 6 asks us a
very good question "Can all your worries add a single moment to your
life?" The answer is NO! A post I read on facebook a while ago said
"Anxiety is an expensive habit. Of course, it might be worth the cost if
it worked but it doesn’t. Our frets are futile. Worry has never brightened a
day, solved a problem, or cured a disease. God leads us. God will do the right
thing at the right time and what a difference that makes." -www.ifnotforgod.com
We Christians tend
to give our problems so much attention to the point that worry and anxiety sets
in, paints the problem so big and makes us forget how big our God
is. Matthew 6:28-30 says “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the
lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing,
yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if
God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into
the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.Why do you have so little
faith?".. Next time you're faced with a challenge, instead of telling God
how big your problem is, tell the problem how big your God is. With this
mindset, fear, worry and anxiety will be strangers to you.
Just in case you didn't know,
worrying is another form of unbelief it is just a polite way of
saying "I don't know if God is capable of solving this at the right
time". If truely you're a child of God then be rest assured all will be
well because our father knows what we're going through, He knows exactly what
we need, where and when. Philippians 4:6-7 says "Don’t worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all
he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we
can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in
Christ Jesus."
Verse 33 of Matthew 6 says
"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will
give you everything you need." . This sums up the whole thing, if you seek
God righteously He'll fulfill all your heart desires. God is not a cheat or
some kind of big unseen creature who derives joy in subjecting people to His
laws. He is a loving father who cares so much about us. If you work for Him,
He'll work for you too!
IF YOU CALL YOURSELF A CHRISTIAN,
REGULAR CHURCH MEMBER,BORN - AGAIN, SANCTIFIED WORKER IN CHURCH...YOU KNOW WHAT
YOU CALL YOURSELF BUT STILL YOU'RE NOT LIVING A HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS LIFE, PLEASE
BETTER START WORRYING! WHY? WITHOUT HOLINESS NO MAN CAN SEE GOD! IF GOD ISN'T
ON YOUR SIDE SO YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. WITHOUT HOLINESS NOT ONLY WILL YOU SUFFER
IN VAIN ON EARTH FOR BEING A CHRISTIAN BUT EVERLASTING SUFFERING IS RESERVED
FOR ETERNITY TOO!
The challenge today is for us not
to worry about things we know God can sort out but there are some things God
has given us full authority over and that is our free-will. Your behaviour and
obedience to God's word will determine whether you end up in heaven or hell. So
here is something you can worry about for few seconds ' WHAT IS YOUR STANDING
WITH GOD LIKE? ARE YOU LIVING ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL? '. If yes, well done and
keep the fire burning but if no, pleasing I'm begging you, make your ways right
with God.
Have a worry, anxiety and stress free week :)
